If your tour through Tuscany is almost done but you would still love to learn about the world-famous Brunello wines, then this tour is for you.

On our one-day tour you will learn why this wine has become famous the world over.

We will visit 2 private wineries to become “sommelier for a day,” tasting and comparing different wines; Brunellodi Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and IGT. You will be able to taste up to 10 wines this day.

You will also visit the striking Abbey of Sant’Antimo, climb to the top of a 13th century fortress, and walk through the medieval streets of the lovely town of Montalcino.

Brunello Wine Tour - Morning

Private visit to a small winery for a tasting. We will taste: Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and IGT. (we might taste grappa or Brunello Riserva as well)

During this visit you can explore the vineyards, go down to the cellar and learn about the process of Brunello making.

Brunello Wine Tour - Afternoon

Visit the Abbey of Sant’Antimo. This gorgeous “pearl” of Romanesque architecture, built with local travertine stone, proudly stands among the olive trees. After spiritual visit we will continue our wine exploration and drive for a second winery for a private visit and guided wine tastings.

THE PRICE INCLUDES:

  • italian breakfast, 
  • 2 wine tastings with private winery visit (you will taste 4-5 wines at each winery, including Brunello di Montalcino),
  • "Gran Tuscan Degustation" lunch with a glass of wine,
  • visit fortress of Montalcino and Abbey of Sant’Antimo,
  • transfer (due to itinerary) with accompanying english-speaker living in Tuscany.

The price does not include transport to or from Montalcino. Please let us know if you need transfer and we can organize something for you at a good price.

 
ADDITIONAL INFO:

If you have already done a wine tasting in the region, please let us know with whom so we can avoid repetition. We prefer small, non-commercial wineries to make sure you have a special experience.

The itinerary is fairly flexible so can be slightly modified to suit your interests and the season.
