Mini tour in Montalcino, Tuscany.
Just 3 days take you out of your routine and “working problems”. Amazing weekend is waiting for you with the splendor of Montalcino and its amazing wines.
You will visit 3 wineries and get to know all about Brunello production and its aging with the further private wine tasting of famous Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, orcia DOC wines and some IGTs.
You will admire the beauty of the Pienza, Montalcino, Bagno vignoni and some other medieval cities. We will taste best wines and the excellent Tuscan food.
You can choose whether to stay in the historical center in Montalcino and enjoy evening walking through the medieval city or gorgeous villa with swimming pool and all comfort just a few kilometers from Montalcino.
DAY 1 – MONTALCINO & BRUNELLO WINE TASTINGS
You will be shown the entire process of wine-making, from the vineyard, to harvesting the grapes, initiating the primary processing, fermentation, vinification, and eventually aging and packaging. After that, you get to taste! You will be offered 2 different vintages of Brunello di Montalcino, a younger Rosso di Montalcino, and some blends. Lunch in a cozy restaurant. Visit St.Antimo Abbey. Walk in Montalcino and visit fortress La Fortezza.
We will travel to walk through another medieval town Pienza, famous all over the world for its cheese production. Driving to Pienza you will be able to make unbelievable pictures of amazing views through all the way to Pienza. We wil stop for wine tastings of Orcia DOC wines. ON the way back we will stop for an apperitive in Bagno Vignoni.
Third day we will admire the beauty of artistic Cortona. In the afternoon I would propose one more Brunello wine tasting and Moscadello.

Accommodation for 4 nights in the "affittacamere" in the historical center of Montalcino or private villa with swimming pool ( up to your choice); all breakfasts (if you have special requests please let us know, since Italian breakfast is basically sweet or salty pastries with coffee or tea and yogurt); all lunches, including a glass of wine in typical restaurants; 2 wine tastings with private winery visit Brunello wine maker (you will taste 4-5 different wines each winery, including Brunello di Montalcino); 1 private visit and Orcia wine tasting (you will taste 4-5 wines); all transfers within the tour scheduale with accompanying English-speaker local; airport transfer from/to Rome or Florence. During this trip you will visit Montalcino, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni and Cortona. Dinners are not included in the price, but you can ask a special package with dinners included. |

We like to choose places that don’t cater to tourists and that have excellent food. If you have already done a wine tasting in the region, please let us know with whom so we can avoid repetition. We prefer small, non-commercial wineries to make sure you have a special experience. The itinerary is flexible and can be tailored to suit your particular interests or the time of year.
