1 DAY – Introduction to Brunello wines
A private car will meet you at the Rome or Florence airport and drive you to Montalcino.
Take a moment to unpack, then I will take you for a short walk around Montalcino followed by an immersion into the world of Brunello, one of the most famous wines in the world.
We will visit a winery and then do a tasting, so you can learn all about what makes it so special. After a short walk through the vineyards we will go down to the most sacred place in any winery: the cellar. Admire the huge Slavonian oak barrels and then go back for another tasting. You will taste 3-5 wines, including two different vintages of Brunello, a Rosso di Montalcino, a Riserva, and some IGTs.
During the walk through town you will see the magnificent 13th century fortress, beautiful churches, numerous wine shops, local boutiques, restaurants, and bars.
